I had never thought about this. How many times have you walked past a store with a sign that said, “Please take $50 off your order whenever you go there”? I mean, I was never going to go to a store and buy a $100 bottle of wine or a $150 bottle of perfume but I still did it. It was sort of expected in our culture that we’d go to a store and buy things.
I’m not sure exactly how much the 50s have gotten lost in the shuffle, but I’ve always been pretty comfortable with my spending habits. There are two reasons for that: 1) I’m pretty frugal, and 2) I have a lot of money.
The first major reason for buying a lot at a store is that you can get away with many more things. Just because you can buy a larger quantity does not mean that it carries more value. I’ve used the theory of “frugality is the new frugality” to explain the fact that there is a limit to how much you can spend on things at a store. The second major reason for buying a lot at a store is that you can spend less.
Many stores have a limit to how much they will sell (even more than the grocery store) at any given time. They have a set price that they set. That price is the amount of money you can spend in any given amount of time. For instance, I get to spend $10 at a store every hour on a daily basis. However, I can only spend $10 in an hour on a Saturday, and I have to spend $0 on the other days.
Many stores also have a “buy one get one free” promotions. One for every item you buy, they give you one free. You can spend 1 for the things you bought, and you get 2 free, but you have to buy everything in between.
This is the same deal as a buy one get one free. You get one for your items, and you get two free, but you have to buy everything in between.
Koshys is the most addictive game I have ever played. It’s not the game, but the concept of having to spend hundreds of dollars to get a few items for free every single day. The only real problem is that the prices are ridiculously high. For example, if you buy one Koshys gift pack, you get $50 off, but then you have to spend $75. Then you have to spend another $10 to get your second pack.
That’s why we love koshys. The prices don’t reflect the true costs of the items, but the concept of spending hundreds of dollars to get just a few items for free every single day. It’s like buying a car, and then driving it for a few hours every single day. The prices are ridiculous, but the game gets you addicted to the idea of spending hundreds of dollars a day.
In addition to the koshys packs, the game also has a series of different rewards based on the number of your purchase. For example, if you buy 3 packs, you can get a “special reward” of $25 off your first purchase. Then you have to spend $30 to get 4 more packs of these things. So if you buy 3 packs, you get a $25 discount, but then you need to spend $30 to get 4 packs more.
Every day, I find myself spending hundreds of dollars on koshys. I don’t know how many packs I’ve purchased, but there are days when I’m like, “Man, I hope this thing doesn’t last more than a month.
