This year, despite a lot of complaints about the secrecy surrounding the process, the elections for the three constituencies of Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, were held on 24 October. The voters will be asked to cast their votes on 5 October.
The election is on and the counting is on. The contest will be held on the first Sunday of November next year. It will be a massive event and it will be a challenge for Indias media.
The media has been an important part of the Indian political process for years. For most of the last century, the media was the voice of the people and the voice of the opposition. But the media is now mostly controlled by the power brokers, and the country is still ruled largely by the oligarchs. This is very much the case with the election. And if there is a single thing you can say about the media, it is that we are under immense pressure to be fair and unbiased.
The media is so important in our lives today because it is the only voice that people can actually hear. They’re the only means by which people can know what goes on in the halls of power — and they’re the only source of news and information that people can turn to when they have a question or need a factoid. All the other media, whether left- or right-leaning, is simply the propaganda machine of the ruling class.
These days we have a lot of government agencies that would like to get the news to us, and of the world, they don’t want to get the news to anyone else. People want to know what’s going on, and that’s not always the case. We don’t want to get anything handed over to the news machines.
Now that we have the news, we can get the facts about things. We can get a little more information on what the government is doing, what they want to do, and what they actually are doing. We no longer have to rely on our government to tell us what we need to know about what is going on in the world. We can get the facts too, and it seems that politicians do not always want to share this with the people.
The biggest reason that politicians do not want to share this information with the people is that they have to make a living. It is not just the perks and benefits that you have to look into. You also have to look at where the politicians are. As I often say, if you want the best for the people you represent, you need to look at how you are representing them.
